Today was extremely interesting. I have noticed on my Christian walk that it is often when I am not expecting anything from God i.e. I am probably stagnating that He begins to speak or shake things up. On the course of today I had the privilege of seeing two amazing young adults get baptized in a swimming pool. It was so awesome that they were getting baptized in a public swimming center. When faith is raw I get excited. We had our young adults pastor immerse them each into the water and then we all prayed over them. It is amazing how a midst someone else's blessing or moment with God, we can often begin to hear Him speak to us. A lady called Kerry was also among the crowd to support the two getting baptized. After the baptism everybody celebrated over food and I got chatting to a lady called Kerry. Well... What a fascinating lady. Its interesting when you know that you know that someone is very Godly without knowing them. She had incredible stories about the missions field in Nepal and some of the amazing things she has seen God do. If I am to be honest, initially I felt intimidated by this mighty woman because of her faith and the testimony she had witnessed. She started to talk about what God was doing in Nepal - which really is outpouring and revival and sparked in my heart the call for missions. I have always had a heart to see the broken restored and healed and know that one day God will send me on a missions trip to see an out pour and revival. Well... to be honest... I did not think it was something that may be sooner than later. Cards on the table, I feel like God is preparing me to go on a missions trip. This terrifies me! In that I know my heart will be even more broken, my perception may change and I may not want to live in the western world any longer. Audacious and bold statements I know, but also part truth. So my word is 'Shake up your faith and go on a crusade'. I do not know how it will happen or where it will be. But mark my words, I know that God will send me on a missions trip to another country and it will be life changing!

The Turning Point... To Bake or Not To Bake
To Bake or Not To Bake... that is the question.
One of the challenges in the turning point of my life is to take up learning how to cook and bake. It is overrated that girls cook and guys are supposed to play sport. If you are someone like me, you like to defile the odds of what society says and aim to break the mold. My passion is to see men stepping into the men they are called to be - and being comfortable in their own skin.
In my attempts to learn to cook/bake I have made two batches of cakes. The first attempt was with chocolate chip muffins. These beauties were simple to make and tasted delicious. The next big beauty was vanilla cupcakes with butter-cream icing. Now granted, cupcakes are often seen as feminine, however I attempted to bring in attributes of masculinity into my baking i.e. blue icing... with pretty sprinkles. Of course this is a joke. But sometimes you have to answer the question: To bake or not to bake?
If you are a confident enough male, the answer is... To bake. Give it a go and enjoy it. It is definitely good to try new things and to be confident about them. Sure, I did not hunt a deer, but what I did do is make aesthetically pleasing masterpieces that fed quite a few friends. The overall consensus was that they actually tasted good. So whether being a Metro-Man or Any-Man, the challenge for you is to give baking a go because you actually might create something that tastes darn good. The even greater news... the two recipes are cheap and effective (hello flatting/student).

How it begins... A Metro Man's Blog
The aims of this blog are to share the insights, wonders, thoughts and ideas of a young man (myself) in a western world. It is called a Metro Man's Blog because the name really emphasizes the content to follow. I am 20 years old, living in New Zealand and embarking on a mission to be an outrageous Christian guy; who likes clothes, cannot cook, loves people and after a turning point in my life, the blog is born.
